LoRaWAN Success Story with ZENNER International - Europa-Park in Rust, Germany

Europa-Park in Rust is Germany’s largest amusement and theme park, with more than 100 attractions. Together with ZENNER International GmbH & Co. KG, the park developed a solution for monitoring water levels in its lakes and waterways. A process that previously had to be carried out manually and on-site has been digitalized using LoRaWAN®. Just as in cities, water levels throughout the park must be continuously monitored. The lakes and bodies of water associated with the park’s various water attractions depend on maintaining consistent water levels. The solution uses ultrasonic sensors to automatically measure water levels throughout the park every 30 minutes and transmit the data accordingly. Water-level monitoring is just one of many digital use cases that Europa-Park is implementing together with ZENNER. The park is already using predictive maintenance to monitor lift motors on a roller coaster, as well as AI-powered people counting at attractions.
