In his presentation, Luc Perard, Sr VP IoT Business of Eutelsat, describes the capabilities of ELO (English translation of acronym is Low Earth Orbit) satellite and how it will rapidly expand LoRaWAN adoption. ELO only provides the uplink—not the downlink—information, which is what most IoT use cases require and anyone with a LoRaWAN network can be an ELO partner. This use case will be important not just for asset tracking, where things are moving, but also for fixed assets that may be many kilometers apart.
