Building Secure and Interoperable LoRaWAN® Devices: A Deep Dive into TR007
The LoRa Alliance Technical Recommendation TR007 has been updated to reflect today’s evolving security expectations and device best practices—and if you build or certify LoRaWAN devices, this revision matters. In this webinar, members of the LoRa Alliance Technical Committee will walk through the latest updates to TR007, originally released in 2021, and explain what’s changed, why it changed, and how device makers should apply these recommendations in practice. The session will focus heavily on security, including updated best practices for root key management and DevNonce handling, as well as a new section on general product security that addresses protecting external interfaces and maintaining device integrity. Attendees will also learn about new guidance on time synchronization, helping end-devices reliably maintain network time. In addition to the technical updates, the webinar will provide insight into the role of the LoRa Alliance Technical Committee, introduce the Device Makers Solution Forum task force, and explain how certification supports secure, interoperable, and well-behaved LoRaWAN devices. This session is ideal for device makers, firmware developers, protocol stack developers, and anyone involved in designing, securing, or certifying LoRaWAN end-devices.
