In his presentation, Joey Hiller, Technical Director at Helium Foundation, describes the evolution of Helium’s decentralized community network—beginning in crypto-based incentive mining and now also including fixed pricing per data packet—and how Helium’s methodology of setting up wireless networks using LoRaWAN gateways has given the community the authority to build the largest public IoT network in the world—with more than 840,000 gateways—in three years.
